THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The crucial findings of the investigation team in the controversy against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil are out. In the details released by a private television channel, it mentions that one of the victims was forced to undergo an unsafe abortion, and she was later rushed to the hospital in Thiruvananthapuram following bleeding.

The victim, a 26-year-old native of Thiruvananthapuram, told Rahul about her pregnancy, but the young leader shrugged it off. Finally, the seriousness of the situation was realised only after the fetus had reached 16 weeks of development. A shuddered Rahul then handed over abortion pills to the victim through his friend, a native of Pathanamthitta. After consuming the pills, the victim suffered bleeding and had to be rushed to the hospital.

The investigation team may collect the statement of the doctor who examined the woman. There are indications that an investigation is also underway focusing on another friend of Rahul, who runs a business in the pharmacy sector. There is information that an investigation is also underway regarding the dubious purchase of the pills without a doctor's prescription.

As per the crime branch, the victim is still hesitant to move ahead with the case. The trans woman who came against Rahul, alleging cyber stalking and obscene messages, has not yet shown consent to give statements to the investigative officers.
