ALUVA: A 12-year-old boy died tragically when a coconut fell on him while he was trying to catch a myna from a hole in a dry coconut tree with his friends. VS Muhammed Sinan (12), the only son of painter Sudheer, died. The accident occurred at 12 pm.

Sinan had gone with four friends to cut Palmyra Palm Fruit for fishing bait in the field owned by the Settlement School. In the meantime, they saw a myna flying from a nearby 12-meter-tall dry coconut tree. Thinking that its babies were in the hole at the top of the coconut, the children tried to shake the coconut and overturn it. When the coconut tree fell, the others ran away, but Sinan fell under the tree. The other children tried to remove the coconut from his body, but they could not. Locals rushed him to Aluva Karothukuzhi Hospital, but his life could not be saved. Sinan is a class 7 student of Thottakkattukara Holy Ghost High School. The body was cremated after a postmortem at Kalamassery Medical College.
