Thiruvonam bumper lottery: Ticket sold in Attingal wins first prize of Rs 25 crore

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ticket number TH 577825 has won the Thiruvonam bumper lottery drawn here today. The lottery carries a cash prize of Rs 25 crore. The ticket which won the first prize was sold by agent K Thankaraj of Bhagavathy Agency at Attingal in Thiruvananthapuram. The same numbered tickets in other series will receive Rs 5 lakh each as a consolation prize. The second prize is one crore each for 20 people.

The draw began at 1 pm at Gorkhy Bhavan in the presence of Finance Minister K N Balagopal and Antony Raju MLA. The draw, which was scheduled for September 27, was postponed to today due to technical reasons. A total of 75 lakh tickets were sold. Palakkad sold the most with 14.07 lakh, 9.37 lakh tickets were sold in Thrissur and 8.75 lakh tickets in Thiruvananthapuram.
