SULTAN BATHERY: SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan said that he has not made anyone cry and has only wiped away the tears of the innocent. He was delivering the presiding speech at the Yogam branch leadership meeting held in Sultan Bathery.
"I am moving forward by correcting things that seem wrong. My work is for the poor and the backward classes. I have been working for the last three decades under the leadership of Yogam to bring the community that was socially, economically and educationally backward to the forefront. There is no point in praying when hungry. We need to eliminate poverty and sorrow and then move towards spirituality. Microfinance was introduced for that. A few people misused it. They are the ones who are now criticizing the Yogam leadership.
Other communities, no matter what hatred they have within them, will stand united when it comes to serious issues. If we do not stand together at least now, we will be left behind in all areas. The Ezhava community has been neglected even in the matter of nominating MPs. SNDP Yogam is an organisation that protests. Yogam's beginning was by leading a movement against discrimination and to achieve the rights and powers one deserved. Although many people came forward to destroy this, they had to bow their knees before the invincible power of Yogam," said Vellappally.
