WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump informed that Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of the US-proposed peace plan to end the conflict in Gaza. The plan includes the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. He said that this can be seen as the first step towards a strong, durable and everlasting peace. Trump made this announcement on his Truth page. Trump is reportedly going to Egypt on Sunday for peace talks.
‘I am very proudly to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first phase of our peace plan. This means that all of the hostages will be released very soon and Israel will withdraw their troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps towards a strong, durable and everlasting peace. All parties will be treated fairly! This is a great day for the Arab and Muslim world, Israel, all surrounding nations and the United States of America and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey who worked with us to make this historic and unprecedent event happen. Blessed are the peacemakers,’ said Trump.
