"Let them investigate everything since Vijay Mallya's gold plating in 1998"; all mysteries need to end, says PS Prashanth

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Travancore Devaswom Board President PS Prasanth has reacted to the gold plating controversy in Sabarimala. He said that the plates were not handed over to Unnikrishnan Potty for gold plating in 2024.

“It was my suggestion that the gold plating should not be handed over to Unnikrishnan Potty. There was a different Thiruvabharanam Commissioner in 2024. The reason was the confusion he had. That mistake was reported as well. However, it is the board that is responsible for taking away the layers in 2025. However, it was taken away in compliance with all the norms. There is no need to cast doubt on the current board. The board's stance is to end all the mysteries," PS Prasanth clarified.

The Devaswom Board President also said let them investigate everything since Vijay Mallya's gold plating in 1998. “The sponsor was changed based on some information received. An agency should come to determine the value of the artefact. Let a decision be made on such matters,” he said.

“The board’s stance is to recover all the lost gold. Neither the government nor the Devaswom Board will cooperate in stealing even a single piece of gold belonging to the Lord. A special investigation team is investigating all this. Let there be punishment if Devaswom Board President PS Prasanth is found guilty,” he added.
