14-year-old boy collapses, dies in father's lap; father dies of heart attack shortly after

SRINAGAR: A heartbreaking story has emerged from Jammu, where a father and son died within moments of each other, turning an entire family’s life into tragedy. The 14-year-old son, who had been unwell, collapsed and died in his father’s lap- and the shocked father died of a heart attack soon after witnessing it.

The tragic incident took place in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. The deceased were Shabir Ahmad Gani (45) and his 14-year-old son Sahil Ahmad, both residents of the Tethar area in Banihal.

Shabir was on his way to the hospital with his sick son when Sahil’s condition suddenly worsened. The boy experienced severe discomfort and collapsed onto his father’s lap, dying on the spot. Overcome with grief, Shabir suffered chest pain and died of a heart attack shortly after. Both bodies were taken to the Sub-District Hospital mortuary in Banihal.
