MOZAMBIQUE: Two Malayalees are among those missing after a boat capsized in the Beira port of Mozambique, an African country. Indrajith Santhosh (22), a native of Piravom, and Sreerag Radhakrishnan (35, also known as Pappu), a native of Chavara Thevalakkara in Kollam, are among the missing. Son of Radhakrishna Pillai and Sheela, Sreerag is an employee of Scorpio Marine Company Sea Quest. Sreerag has been working in Mozambique for three and a half years. He had been in Kerala for the last six months and returned to Mozambique last Monday. It was on Tuesday that Sreerag last contacted home. Thevalakkara gram panchayat member Pradeep Kumar stated that, although the accident site has been identified, the search is being hindered by adverse weather conditions.
Jithu is Sreerag's wife. Children: Aditi (5) and Anaswara (9).
The search for Indrajith, a mechanical engineer at Scorpio Marine Maritime Management Enterprises Shipping Company, continues. The accident occurred at 3.30 am on the 16th while he was going to work on the ship by dinghy. 15 of the 21 crew members were rescued. There are indications that the boat that sank on Thursday was located in the deep sea.
