NEW YORK: The world's most popular apps are down. Many popular apps and websites, including Perplexity, Snapchat, Canva, Amazon, and Spotify, were down. Several major online platforms, including AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Robinhood, were down on Monday, Downdetector, an outage monitoring site, reported.
More than 2,000 AWS services were reported to be down in the US according to Downdetector. Many users were unable to use various digital services and apps. Downdetector said that the outages came from Amazon Web Services.

How the issue was reported
AWS first registered an issue on its service status page just after midnight on October 20. The company said it had identified the cause of the issue by around 2am and had begun fixing the issues within half an hour.
The main apps that reported outages were Amazon Prime Video, Spotify, Coinbase and Zoom. British media reported that the outages began to be reported in the UK at around 8am local time.
A number of complaints have since started pouring in. Several customers, including in India, have complained that they are still facing issues. Meanwhile, there are reports that some platforms have partially resumed their services.
