Arya Rajendran to contest assembly polls; suspense in LDF's mayoral candidate 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the local body elections approaching, the UDF is trying to seize power in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. The LDF, on the other hand, is actively trying to ensure its continuous rule. The fronts are moving very cautiously.

The UDF is facing the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation elections highlighting former MLA Sabarinath. So, it is clear that the LDF will not field a simple candidate. Arya had earlier made it clear that she would abide by whatever the party decides.

According to reports, Arya Rajendran may not be the mayoral candidate. Some media reported that Arya may be fielded for the assembly polls. The names of CPM district committee member and former general secretary of the Child Welfare Committee, S P Deepak, and former MP A Sampath are being heard as mayoral candidates. The CPM district secretariat will soon decide on the candidates.
