THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case has been registered against a woman and her second husband for forcing her 16-year-old son to join the terrorist organization ISIS. The case has been filed under UAPA. The incident happened between November 1, 2021, and July 31 last year. The incident comes under the jurisdiction of Venjaramoodu police station.

The boy’s mother was married to a native of Pandalam in Pathanamthitta and she was converted. The couple had been living in the UK since 2021. Reports say that they had been forcing the boy, who had arrived in the UK, to join ISIS. They tried to influence him by showing him some videos.

The couple later returned home and admitted the boy to a religious school in Attingal. Seeing the change in the boy's behavior, they informed her family home. After the boy explained the matter in detail, her relatives informed the police.
