Ukraine purportedly agrees to US-brokered peace agreement

ABU DHABI: Ukraine signalled its support for the framework of a peace agreement proposed by the US to end the three-year interminable war with Russia. At the same time, Russia showed no signs of accepting proposals, including the handover of the occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is trying to negotiate with US President Donald Trump on the issue. US officials held talks with Russian representatives in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on Tuesday. At the same time, six people were killed in a Russian airstrike in Kyiv early on Tuesday. Three people were killed in a Ukrainian drone strike on the Russian border.
