'Woman arrested for immoral trafficking assaulted by officer'; CI's suicide note against DySP

PALAKKAD: The suicide note of circle inspector, who ended his life, has emerged. The suicide note of Binu Thomas (52) of Thottilpalam in Kozhikode has emerged. The note levels serious allegations against the DySP.

Serious allegations have been levelled against Kozhikode DySP Umesh. The allegation is that Umesh abused a woman, who was arrested for immoral trafficking. The note said that he went to the house occupied by a woman and her two children and abused her.

SHO Binu was found hanging in his quarters on November 15. Binu had gone to his quarters to rest while on duty. When he did not return, his colleagues went to check and then found him hanging. A thirty-two-page suicide note was also found near the body.


The police initially said family issues were the reason for the suicide. However, there were allegations of work pressure. The suicide note came to light in the meantime. Binu Thomas arrived in Cherpulassery six months ago after being transferred.
