Mohanlal or Mammootty? Rumours end regarding Mambarackal Ahammed Ali in Khalifa

Superstar Mohanlal will play a cameo role in 'Khalifa' directed by Vysakh, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. Mohanlal plays the character of Mambarackal Ahammed Ali, the grandfather of the character played by Prithviraj. Both Mammootty and Mohanlal were considered for this role. Vysakh is the director who previously collaborated with Mammootty and Mohanlal, gifting blockbusters like Pokkiri Raja and Pulimurugan, respectively.

Khalifa will hit theatres during the next Onam. The first schedule of the film in which Prithviraj is appearing as a gold merchant named Aamir Ali has been completed in London. Khalifa marks the reunion of Prithviraj and Vysakh after 15 years. Another speciality is Mohanlal-Vysakh reunion after Monster. Jinu Abraham is the writer of the film. Jinu Abraham and Sooraj Kumar are producing this film together under the banner of Jinu Abraham Innovations. Jomon T John will be helming the cinematography, Jakes Bejoy is composing music, and Chaman Chacko will do the cuts. Action choreography is done by Yanik Ben.
