THIRUVANANATHAPURAM: The police will soon record a confidential statement from the woman who complained of misbehaviour from film director P T Kunju Muhammed. The decision is to record the complainant's statement in detail. The investigation team collected CCTV footage from the hotel. The film director’s statement will also be recorded. The police registered a case of sexual assault against PT Kunju Muhammed, who is also a former MLA and a left sympathiser.

According to the complainant, the director misbehaved with her at the hotel after they both completed the screening of a movie in Thiruvanathapuram. The police had registered a case of insulting women and started an investigation. The incident occurred during the first week of last month during the selection of Malayalam films for the 30th IFFK, set to begin on December 13.

Meanwhile, Kunju Muhammed came forward, denying the allegations, saying that the complainant might have misunderstood his approach. The award-winning director also said that he would apologise if needed.
