THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the Left Party has always had a policy of holding close the minorities. Protection of minorities is a Left policy and it cannot be measured by any election result, Pinarayi Vijayan added. He was speaking at the Samastha Shatabdi Sandesh Yatra at Putharikandam Maidanam.

"Protection of minorities is not done with an eye on the elections. It will be clear if you look at the work of the LDF government. Those who think in favour of the progress and peace of the country should stand firmly on the side of secularism. There are forces in the country that are trying to communalise minorities. They should be recognized. A firm message should be spread during this journey that no one will be allowed to break the unity and peace of this land," the Chief Minister said.

"We must be able to identify those who wear the mask of secularism. We must recognise the use of minority communalism as a weapon to oppose majority communalism. These two communalisms are complementary to each other. We need to be able to identify them. All communalists have one thing in common: they convincingly spread lies," the Chief Minister said.
