KOTTAYAM: A lawyer died in a bizarre accident after a gun discharged when the scooter he was travelling on skidded on the road. Advocate Joby Joseph (56) of Okkattu, Uzhavoor, died in the accident. He was a lawyer with the Pala Bar. The incident took place at around 11 pm last night. After completing hunting in the Neerutty area of Pious Mount, Uzhavoor, the scooter on which Joby was riding met with an accident and overturned.
Meanwhile, the gun kept on his shoulder exploded and injured his ear. People reached the spot after hearing the noise and rushed him to the hospital. The licensed gun that was submitted at the station in connection with the election was returned just a few days ago. Kuravilangad police reached the spot and took further action.
