
KOCHI: Air traffic was disrupted as Iran continues to launch missile attacks on US military bases in the Gulf. Several flights from Kerala were cancelled, and flights already departed were asked to divert to safer regions. Flights from Nedumbassery airport have been cancelled en masse. Airlines decided to suspend services as travel through Iranian airspace does not look pleasant. An Oman Airways flight that left for Muscat at 2.38 am was diverted to Nedumbassery midway due to safety reasons.
Flights scheduled to depart from Kannur to Doha at 3.40 pm today have been cancelled. The flights scheduled to depart from Kochi to Jeddah at 5.20 pm, the flight scheduled to depart from Kannur to Doha at 7.15 pm, the flight scheduled to depart from Kannur to Fujairah at 7.25 pm, the flight scheduled to depart from Kannur to Sharjah at 9.30 pm, and the flight scheduled to depart from Kochi to Dubai at 6.20 pm are the other cancelled flights.
IndiGo's Gulf services were completely suspended, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded at the airport after booking their tickets in advance. It is not yet clear when the services will resume.
