Actress Meera Nandan and her husband, Sreeju, are currently stuck in Thailand due to the ongoing war situation in the Gulf region. The two went to Thailand to enjoy their first holiday of 2026. But when it was time to return, the news of the war unexpectedly came out. The two are unable to return due to the suspension of flight services. Meanwhile, although friends and relatives are suggesting that they return to India, the actress says that they want to return to the UAE because the place truly feels like home.
'We truly want to thank each and every one of you who reached out to check if we were safe. It honestly means so much to us.
We're currently in Thailand. After my best friend's wedding, Sreeju and I decided to take a little holiday for ourselves... our first trip of 2026 and also our first time in Thailand.... and it felt like the perfect choice. We've been having such a wonderful time here.
But just when it was almost time for us to return, we heard the unfortunate news ...and since then, all we've been thinking about is getting back to the UAE. So many people have been calling and asking us to go back to India instead. But honestly, we can't wait to return to the UAE. That kind of feeling only comes when a place truly feels like home.
We're still uncertain about when we'll be able to return. For now, we're just taking it one day at a time and making wherever we are feel a little like home until we can return to ours.
I've lived in the UAE for the past 11 and a half years, and Sreeju for almost a year and a half. If he already feels this deeply about going back, imagine the sense of security and belonging the UAE gives you.
Thank you for being our home, UAE. Thank you to the leaders of this nation and to the incredible people who make it what it is. We're so grateful and we truly can't wait to be back.'- Meera Nandan wrote on social media.
