TEHRAN: The Thai cargo ship 'Mayuree Naree', which was en route to Kandla port in Gujarat via the Strait of Hormuz, was hit by an Iranian missile attack. The ship was coming from Khalifa Port in the UAE. The incident took place 12 nautical miles north of Oman. The Oman Navy rescued 20 crew members. Rescue operations are ongoing for three people trapped in the engine room. All are Thai citizens.

It is not clear what cargo was on the ship. The Marshall Islands-flagged Star Gwyneth and the Japanese-registered One Majesty ships were also attacked. Iran has warned that it will not allow a drop of oil to be transported through the Strait of Hormuz unless the United States stop targeting it.
