THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram is set to welcome a major sporting landmark on March 16 at 6 pm, when Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurates the Kerala Cricket Association’s new stadium in Mangalapuram. Built on ten acres at a cost of Rs 45 crore, this state-of-the-art venue features an international-standard ground, a pavilion, and high-tech LED floodlights installed by Signify (Philips).
The event also marks the launch of a new KCA State Academy and an indoor training center designed to support year-round, weather-proof practice. Education Minister V. Sivankutty and Food and Public Distribution Minister G.R. Anil will inaugurate these secondary facilities.
KCA President Adv. Sreejith V. Nair noted that this stadium serves as the blueprint for future facilities across all Kerala districts. By combining world-class infrastructure with advanced training centers, the KCA aims to identify and nurture top-tier cricketing talent more effectively than ever before.
