'Accused arrested within 12 hours'; Strict action will be taken in Aluva Athul murder case

KOLLAM: City Police Commissioner M Hemalatha said the six main accused in the murder case of Aluva Athul, the accused in the murder case of Gym Santhosh in Karunagappally, were arrested yesterday itself. With this, all ten people in the case have been arrested. Naufal, Shamnad, Shinu Peter, Mohammed Faisal, Black Vishnu, Aneer, Hussain, Ashiq, Adil and Ali Ummer were arrested.

‘Four of those arrested are accomplices. A special team conducted an investigation for them, including in the Tamil Nadu border. The vehicle in which the accused were travelling was tracked. The vehicle was followed till Mundakkayam. From there, they were arrested with the support of the locals. The main accused in the case were arrested within 12 hours of the incident.

Strong action will be taken against the goons. Thanks to the media's intervention. The investigation is ongoing. There was intelligence report that Athul would be attacked. Necessary steps were taken in that. It is also being examined whether more are involved in this case. Strong action will be taken against the goonda attacks in Kerala. Strong action will be taken against the accused. There will be no compromise in that,' said Hemalatha.

Athul, who was out on bail in the Gym Santhosh murder case, was hacked to death by a group that came in another car yesterday, when he was returning after signing the papers in the station. It is believed that the murder was following an animosity between the goonda gangs. The accused committed the crime with a proper planning.
