
HOUSTON: Fort Bend County Judge and Malayali-American K P George has been found guilty on two charges of money laundering case. The prosecutors argued in court that he improperly transferred more than $46,000 from his campaign account to a private account and used the money for personal expenses. The verdict was delivered on Friday.
After the verdict was delivered, K P George was taken out of the court in handcuffs. He was later released on $20,000 bond. During the trial, prosecutors produced financial documents and witness statements. The prosecutors argued that the transfer violated campaign finance laws and was for George's personal gain.
