Trump announces 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon; issues warning to Iran

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has announced that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire. The announcement came after talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. Trump said the ceasefire will come into effect at 9 pm on April 16.

Trump described the ceasefire as part of efforts to restore peace in the region. Following the announcement, Trump hosted Netanyahu and Joseph Aoun at the White House. Meanwhile, the United States has warned Iran that stricter actions will be taken if it does not agree to a peace deal.
