Orange alert for two districts; Heavy rainfall warning in Kerala for next three hours

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An orange alert was issued in two districts in view of the heavy rain in the state. An orange alert has been issued for Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts. The alert is for the next three hours. The Indian Meteorological Department predicted a possibility of rain with thunder and strong winds with a speed of up to 50 kmph.

IMD informed that there is a possibility of moderate rain and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts in the next three hours. In view of the heavy rain, a yellow alert has also been issued for various districts till May 2.

30/04/2026: Idukki, Kannur, Kasaragod

01/05/2026: Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Wayanad

02/05/2026: Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Wayanad
