NEW DELHI: The nine-judge larger bench, that will consider the review petitions regarding the entry of women to the Sabarimala temple, has been named. The larger bench does not consist of any members from the bench that delivered the controversial verdict in 2018.

The bench, headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde, also consists of justice R Bhanumathi, Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice L Nageshwara Rao, Justice Mohan M Shatanagoudar, Justice S Abdul Nazeer, Justice R Subash Reddy, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Surya Kant. The nine-judge bench will also consider the issues of alleged discrimination against Muslim and Parsi women.

It must be noted that Justices DY Chandrachud, AM Khanwilkar and Indu Malhotra, who were members of the five-judge bench that referred the review petitions to the larger bench, are not included in the nine-judge bench.
