Five COVID deaths in state, natives of Kozhikode, Ernakulam and Kottayam succumb to virus

KOZHIKODE: Five died of COVID-19 in the state. Natives of Kozhikode, Ernakulam and Kottayam succumbed to the virus. Shahin Babu (47), an employee of Kozhikode rural SP office, Solu (49) of Mavoor, Sadanandan of Aluva who was undergoing treatment at Kalamassery Medical College, Vrinda Jeevan (54) of Moothakunnam Kottuvallikadu and Enath Raghavan Nair (80) of Thiruvalla are those dead.

Shahin Babu was under treatment for COVID-19 from August 13. He did not have any other health issues.

Reports said Solu was a cancer patient. Sadanandan was a heart patient and was also a diabetic. Vrinda was a cancer patient.

Ten had died in the state yesterday. 1530 fresh cases were reported yesterday. Among the new cases, 1351 were contact patients. The source of 100 is unknown. 15310 are presently under treatment.
