ASI stabbed in Kochi while trying to nab vehicle thief

KOCHI: An assistant sub inspector was stabbed amidst an attack by a thief. The victim has been identified as Girish Kumar, ASI of Elamakkara Station. He has been admitted to the hospital.

The incident happened Wednesday early morning near the Edapally Metro Station. The ASI was attacked while he was on duty to seize a bike stolen from Kalamassery. The accused has been identified as Bichu of HMT Colony. He was chased by the police and arrested. He will be produced in the court today.
