Slight drop in Covid cases in country; two lakh new cases, TPR decreases

NEW DELHI: The country reported 2,55,874 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours. There is a 16.39 percent decrease in cases when compared to yesterday's numbers. 3.06 lakh cases were reported yesterday. With this, the number of people undergoing Covid treatment in the country has reached a total of 22,36,842. 439 new deaths were also reported, raising the country’s total deaths to 4,89,848. In the meantime, the recovery rate has increased to 93.15 percent. As of now, 162.92 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country.

There has been a significant decrease in the number of cases in Maharashtra, the worst-hit state in the country. Meanwhile, the Assam government has issued strict restrictions including the banning the entry of non-vaccinated people from public places other than hospitals.
