NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has rejected a plea seeking to postpone National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG examination. The plea, filed by a group of doctors, had sought to postpone the NEET exam for the new academic year on account of the ongoing counselling for NEET PG 2021.
The apex court said that the exam could not be postponed just for a few students and that it would be held on the scheduled date. Around two lakh students have prepared for the exams. The future of the students should be considered. While accepting the plea in file, the court had asked how they could postpone a national examination.
Earlier, several students had sent a letter to the prime minister demanding to postpone the exam. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) had also written to the health minister demanding the same.
