Dalit woman's suicide over dowry and caste harassment: Three person including husband arrested

KOCHI: Police have arrested three people including the husband of Sangeetha, a Dalit woman who committed suicide over dowry and caste harassment. The arrested are Sangeetha's husband Sumesh, his mother Ramani and his sister-in-law Maneesha. Sumesh had surrendered before the probe officials on Tuesday. Sangeetha was found hanging on June 1.

According to Ernakulam Central Police, her relatives alleged she had committed suicide because of the dowry harassment and humiliation for her caste by her in-laws.
