Boy hospitalized after drinking wine made by classmate using YouTube videos

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A boy who drank grape wine made by his classmate watching YouTube has been hospitalized. The incident took place yesterday at Veyiloor Government High School in Murukumpuzha in Chirayinkeezhu. The student who drank wine in class was admitted to the hospital after vomiting and becoming paralyzed. The incident came to light after the parents of this student lodged a complaint with the police.

A 12-year-old boy made wine with the help of YouTube videos using grapes bought by his parents. After the incident, the police reached the school and sought information from the authorities. The mother of the student, who brought wine to the school, was given a warning. The school authorities say that the child's parents were informed as soon as the incident was noticed.

Meanwhile, the Education Department has directed to submit a detailed report on the incident. The directive came after the parents of the hospitalized student lodged a complaint with the chief minister's office.
