NEW YORK: A pilot, who stole an airplane, created panic by threatening to intentionally crash into a Walmart store in the US. The police evacuated people from stores and other places after the man flew recklessly over the city for hours and threatened to crash the plane. Although the police directly spoke with the pilot, they did not reveal further details about the person’s identity. He has been taken into police custody.
According to the police, the 29-year-old pilot had stolen the plane, Beechcraft King Air 90, from Tupelo airport. The plane can carry a total of nine passengers. The police and other concerned departments are seriously evaluating the situation. He had started flying the plane over the city from five in the morning.
Tupelo, the birthplace of rock and roll music legend Elvis Presley, has a population of about 40,000. The situation has been resolved and no one was injured, tweeted the Mississippi Governor.
