Raid in centres of Popular Front; 170 including leaders in custody

NEW DELHI: A nationwide raid is being conducted again in centres of Popular Front. The inspection is being conducted in eight states including Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Delhi. Several leaders of the front have been taken into custody.

There are reports that 170 people from eight states were taken into custody. 45 people were taken into custody from Karnataka alone. The raid which started last night continued till morning. The central agencies had conducted a raid in Popular Front centres across the country last Thursday.


Four activists arrested
Four people were arrested in Kottayam in connection with the violence during the hartal observed by the PFI. Popular Front activists Nasrullah, Shameer Saleem, Shanul Hameed and Muhammad Rafi were arrested. The action was taken in the case of vandalizing a bakery in Kottamuri and a KSRTC bus in Thellakam.
