NEW DELHI: Table Tennis legend and Commonwealth Games medalist Achanta Sharath Kamal has been awarded with the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2022, the highest sporting honour in the country, announced the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on Monday. Malayali badminton player HS Prannoy and athlete Eldhose Paul are among the Arjuna award winners. Apart from Eldos, Commonwealth Games medalists Avinash Sable, Lakshya Sen and Nikhat Zareen are also on the list. 25 players will get the honour this time.
As per a press release from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, the National Sports Awards 2022 were announced. The awardees will receive their awards from the President of India at a specially organized function at Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 30, 2022 (Wednesday) at 1600 hrs.
