Woman nabbed for stealing gold of old woman after sedating her 

THRISSUR: A woman has been arrested for stealing a chain of an old woman after sedating her. East circle inspector P Lal Kumar and his team arrested Lajitha (41) of Kalarikkal near SNV School in Thalikkulam. Lajitha offered the woman, who came to see the doctor in the hospital, a juice laced with sleeping pills.

Lajitha sat next to the old woman, who was waiting to see the doctor in Thrissur General Hospital, and offered her the juice mixed with sleeping pills. When she started falling to sleep, Lajitha asked her to lie on her lap. She then stole her chain and pawned it in a finance firm. She was arrested after the old woman lodged a complaint at the East Police Station. Her visuals were obtained from CCTV cameras.

Police recovered the missing chain from a private finance firm. An expert examination revealed that it was not gold. There is also a case of pawning fake gold against the woman. She was nabbed by a team consisting of east sub inspector S Geethumol, ASI M Jayalakshmi, senior civil police officers K Smitha, P Harish Kumar, V B Deepak, I R Atul Shankar and P M Abhibhilai of camera control room section.
