Police threatened and made me confess to crime, evidences fabricated; Greeshma retracts statement in court

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Greeshma, the first accused in the Sharon murder case in Parasala, said the police threatened and made her confess to the crime. She told Neyyattinkara Magistrate Court that the police threatened to arraign her mother and uncle and that the evidences against her were fabricated.

The accused was produced via video conference from Attakulangara Women’s jail as her remand tenure had ended. The court directed to produce her directly in court. She had told police that she mixed poison in ayurvedic medicine to avoid him from her life.

Meantime, police said Greeshma retracting statement will not affect the investigation. The officials said scientific evidences have been collected and her confession has been recorded on video. Sharon drank the ayurvedic medicine given by Greeshma on October 14 and soon he suffered discomfort and died on October 25 while undergoing treatment.
