NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the people gave not grenades but hearts full of love in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. He said he was often moved by the love shown by people throughout the journey.

Rahul's speech at the closing session was done ignoring the heavy snowfall.

There was a warning that there would be an attack in Kashmir. But the people gave their hearts full of love. No BJP leader can walk through Kashmir like this. Because they are afraid. Priyanka and I have felt the pain of our loved ones being killed. Recalling the martyrdom of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, Rahul said that Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Ajit Doval do not know the pain of losing their loved ones.

It was uncertain whether this would be accomplished when I set out on the journey. The support of the people made it possible to cover 3500 kilometers and complete the journey. The support of the people is tear-inducing. On the journey, I met many people who were suffering. Many women cried and shared their painful experiences. The trip was made to eliminate hate killings. This fight is for the country. Rahul attended the event wearing a traditional Kashmiri Pheran and hoisted the national flag in the morning at Yatra's campsite at Chashme Shahi in Srinagar.

Just before the end of the yatra at the heavy snowfalls area of Chashme Shahi, the final rallying point in Srinagar, Rahul had his hands behind his back with snow blocks in them, reached his sister Priyanka and dropped the snow on her head before running away. Priyanka was also not ready to leave Rahul alone. A Congress worker gave Priyanka snow blocks when she held Rahul's hands tied behind his back.

Priyanka dumped all the snow on Rahul's head. The video of the two hugging afterward went viral in no time. More than three lakh people watched the video. AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal's attempt to escape from the snowball game failed when Rahul dropped snow on his head as well.
