'Even close relatives abandoned me, fatal disease on other side'; Actor Salim Kumar opens up

Actor Salim Kumar said he will remain indebted to Mata Amritanandamayi Devi until his last breath. The actor clarified that it was only because of Amma’s grace that he could walk and breathe again and said he will remain as her son till the last.

Salim Kumar:

“Whenever I go through a tough time, I will visit Amma. Wherever she is, I will try to reach the spot and talk with her. It would give me solace unlike any other thing.

Salim Kumar would not have given a speech to this large audience if not for Amma’s intervention. She saved my life and brought my family out of the gloom. I was a victim of a fatal disease three or four years ago. There was a time when even my relatives, whom I had helped a lot, abandoned me. During that time, I was not familiar with Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.

The doctors suggested that I visit Amma and ask for some help. A shame caught me and pulled me back from asking for help from someone during the first meet. After much contemplation, I took up the nerve somehow and made arrangements for a visit.

Upon seeing me, Amma called me affectionately ‘mone’. I was caught bewildered. The fact that I came here to request help evaded me.

I told Amma that I was 49 years of age, but the Amrita hospital register had mistakenly put my age as 59. Instead of asking for financial help, I requested Amma to correct the error in my age immediately. Amma started laughing wholeheartedly like a child, and I joined her too. Amma then asked me to go and have an operation. I was stunned when Amma said, ' Eniku mone venam' ( I want my son back). Nobody had told me anything like that before. I wish to complete my life as the son of Amma Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.”
