
BENGALURU: An investor consortium that includes the Aditya Birla Group has acquired the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise. According to unconfirmed reports, the deal is valued at around Rs 18,600 crore. The ownership transfer is expected to take place after the 2026 Indian Premier League season.
Once the formalities are completed, RCB is likely to become the most valuable franchise in the league. The team will be jointly owned by the Aditya Birla Group and American sports investor David Blitzer. Currently, the franchise is owned by the Diageo group.
