BENGALURU: Neeraj Chopra creates history in javelin throw. Neeraj himself came first in the international javelin (NC Classic) competition hosted by the country in the name of Neeraj Chopra. Neeraj came first with a throw of 86.18 meters.
Kenya's Julius Yego finished second and Sri Lankan player Rumesh Pathirage finished third. The match started at 7 pm at the Srikanthirava Stadium in Bengaluru. The NC Classic, which was scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on May 24, was postponed due to the India-Pakistan tensions.
Neeraj started with a foul throw. Neeraj took the lead with a throw of 82.99 meters in his second attempt. However, Sri Lankan javelin thrower Rumesh Pathirage overtook Neeraj with a throw of 84.34 meters. Neeraj regained the top spot with a throw of 86.18 meters.
