MIRPUR (DHAKA): Hosts Bangladesh won the first match of the T20 series against Pakistan. Chasing a target of 111 runs, Bangladesh achieved the victory in 15.3 overs for the loss of three wickets. With this, they took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. They lost the wickets of opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim (1), captain Liton Das (1) and Towhid Hridoy. Parvez Hossain Emon scored half-centuries and remained unbeaten on 56*(39) and Jaker Ali 15*(10).
Batting first after losing the toss, Pakistan were all out for just 110 runs in 19.3 overs. Only three batsmen in the Pakistan side reached double figures. Opener Fakhar Zaman was the top scorer with 44 runs from 34 balls. Only Khushdil Shah 18 (23) and Abbas Afridi 22 (24) reached double figures later. The top order of the team with Saim Ayub 6(4), Mohammad Haris 4(3), captain Salman Ali Agha (3(9) and Hasan Nawaz 0(4) disappointed.
The other batsmen scored as follows: Mohammad Nawaz 3(5), Faheem Ashraf 5(10), Salman Mirza 0(1). Abrar Ahmed remained without any runs. Taskin Ahmed was the star bowler for Bangladesh, taking three Pakistan wickets. Mustafizur Rahman took two wickets, while Mehidy Hasan, Tasneem Hassan and Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket each.
