RAIPUR: South Africa defeated India by four wickets with four balls to spare in a rain-affected thriller to level the ODI series (1-1). Batting first in the second ODI held in Raipur on Wednesday, India scored 358 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, South Africa reached the target by losing 6 wickets in 49.2 overs (362/2). India's fielding mistakes proved to be costly. This is the third-best chase in ODI history.

Indian cricket sensation Virat Kohli also scored a century for India, while Aiden Markram (110 not out off 98 balls) dazzled with his bat, scoring a fine century that proved catalyst for South Africa’s win. The crucial final match of the series is in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

Makram’s innings consisted of 10 fours and 4 sixes.
