NEW DELHI: Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has responded to critics after a poor start in the T20 World Cup. Despite being ranked the world’s No. 1 T20I batter, he was dismissed without scoring in all three group-stage matches, recording a hat-trick of ducks.
However, ahead of the Super 8 clash against South Africa on Sunday, Abhishek Sharma said he will not change his batting style. He made his stand clear in a video shared by Star Sports.
“Honestly, I am enjoying my batting right now. I stopped taking all kinds of pressure two years ago because I believe that doing the right things is what is in my control. Whether it is practice or training, I just need to keep doing my work without getting tired," Abhishek said.
I like to play without taking too much tension. For a batter, ups and downs are natural in the game. Sometimes we score well, and sometimes we fail. But at one stage, I realised that I should continue with the same style and the same confidence. It may not work every day, but I am not ready to change my game or my methods,” he added.
