WASHINGTON: An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 hit the north-eastern states of the USA on Friday. Tremors were felt in parts of the states of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The epicenter of the quake was in Tewksberry, New Jersey.
The Geological Survey has confirmed the earthquake. No casualties or damages have been reported so far. Flights from Newark and JFK airports were temporarily suspended due to the possibility of aftershocks.
