Mass layoff at Google; 12,000 employees face job cut

NEWYORK: After the mass downsizing at Amazon and Microsoft, Google is also forced to layoff their employees. 12,000 employees from Alphabet, the parent company of google are facing layoffs. An announcement based on the same came from Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet. He said that this is absolutely necessary in the current economic condition and that he takes full responsibility. It is reported that 6% of the total workforce is being downsized. High number of employees had to face layoff as part of the cost cut to prepare for a predicted economic crisis.

Tech giant Microsoft had already announced that by the 3rd quarter of the economic year of 2023, they would have to layoff 10,000 employees. The decision to layoff 5% of employees was made considering the predicted economic crisis in the future. At present 2,21,000 employees work for the company. Some employees have already received updates on their job cuts. They will recieve benefits, updated Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft.
