NEW YORK: America is all set to receive Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the country by the end of this month. The authorities will accord a grand reception to him.
A restaurant in New Jersey has launched a special thali meal in honour of Modi. 'Modi ji thali' prepared by chef Shripad Kulkarni consists of khichdi, rasgulla, sarson ka saag, Kashmiri dum aloo, dhokla, chaach, and pappad, among other dishes. Among the dishes include Malayalees favourite food idli.

The chef said the thali meals are prepared according to the demand of Indian expatriates. The restaurant owner is also planning to launch another special thali soon to be dedicated to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The chef said that he does a lot to keep the Indian-American community together.
This is not the first time that a restaurant has served special dishes for Modi. Ahead of his birthday in last September 17, a Delhi-based restaurant served a '56-inch Modi Ji' thali.
Modi is going to America on the invitation of US President Joe Biden. The four-day visit begins on June 21.
