WASHINGTON DC: U.S. President Donald Trump has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and urged the release of all prisoners. Speaking at the UN General Assembly, he reiterated his claim that he was responsible for ending the war between India and Pakistan, but said the UN did not acknowledge his role. He also questioned the UN’s effectiveness and its ability to continue functioning.

Before Trump began his speech, technical issues with the teleprompter occurred. He joked that the UN had provided him with a non-working teleprompter and a broken escalator, which caused First Lady Melania Trump to nearly fall.

Trump also addressed illegal immigration in Europe, describing it as a serious problem. He criticised London Mayor Sadiq Khan and stressed that Europe must enforce proper immigration laws. He warned that failure to control illegal immigration could have severe consequences for the continent. On the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Trump accused India and China of being the main sponsors of the war. He urged the European Union to stop buying oil from Russia and to impose stricter sanctions on India and China.
