17-year-old Malayali student falls from third floor of Abu Dhabi apartment, dies

ABU DHABI: A Malayali student died tragically after falling from a building in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Alex Binoy, son of Binoy Thomas and Elsy Binoy, natives of Thottara, Ernakulam, died in the tragic incident.

Alex, aged 17, a student at the Abu Dhabi Indian School, was waiting for his Plus Two results.

The incident took place on Thursday afternoon. The family lives in an apartment in the Tourist Club area. Alex fell from the third floor of the building, with nobody noticing. It was the watchman at the building who informed the youngster’s parents about the drastic incident.

Alex, who was seriously injured, was taken to Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Khalifa Hospital, but his life could not be saved.

Alex's parents have been living in the UAE for a long time. His mother, Elsy, is a nurse at a hospital in Abu Dhabi. Brothers - Dr. Rahul Binoy, Rohit Binoy (Poland). Relatives informed that the procedures to bring Alex's body to his hometown in Kochi are underway.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 3.30 pm at St. Mary's Knanaya Catholic Church in Thottara.
