Four killed, many injured in gunfire near mosque in Oman

MUSCAT: Four people were killed and several injured by gunfire near Wadi Al-Kabir Mosque in Muscat. The Omani police said the incident happened Tuesday morning.

Many had gathered in the masjid for morning prayers. The shooting happened in between this. The visuals showed people running for their lives amidst the gunfire. Meanwhile, police vehicles are seen arriving around the mosque. The police said they have started an investigation into the shooting. The officials have expressed condolences over the death of four people in the shooting.

All security measures have been put in place to deal with the situation and procedures for collecting evidence are being completed as part of the investigation, said the police.
